Back to School

Hailey loves stuffed animals and there is no way she was going to go to school without her little friends.
Mia wanted to go to school so so so bad today.  A friend came to pick up Hailey for our carpool and take her to school and that is when Mia started crying.  She wanted to go with Hailey or she wanted Hailey to stay and neither happened.  So we made sure to have a fun day together.
Mia is going to go to Mommy Preschool this year.

Look at this cute girl, I sure love her.  The night before school started Hailey told me, " Mom, I am a little bit sad because I am going to miss you when I am at school."  My heart melted.  Little does she know how much I will miss her when she goes to school too.
I think these are supposed to be thumbs-up?  Not sure-LOL
Now these are my girls.  Crazy and fun loving!
Hailey was one hungry  girl today, she only ate one bite of breakfast.  She said she was to nervous to eat anymore.
Here we go, another chapter in our lives has begun.

Remembering Dan's Manila Mile

This month is a busy one for my family filled with big happenings.  This month is my Dad's birthday, my parents anniversary, my sister is getting married, and my brother and his wife's anniversary too.  To celebrate my Dad's birthday we got together with close family and friends and ran the Manila Mile.  Years ago when my family moved to Cedar Hills my Dad was in search for the perfect one mile distance sprint race, and he came up with the Manila Mile.
The Vandike Family- (One of my Dad's best friends).
The Manila Mile is on a straight road by our parents home where the slow is at the right down hill slop for fast speed but also treats your joints well.  I remember being young and this race was huge.  The BYU sprint runners would come and make their record times on this course.  Years later Cedar Hills adopted this race and turned it into the Gorilla Mile which they do during the city celebrations every year.
My Dad's record time on this course was 4 min. 17 sec.  Pretty good for a distance runner.
In celebration of my Dad's birthday this year we decided we would put on the Manila Mile again with the people we love.  It was so awesome to have everyone there and feel their love and support for my Dad and our family.

Cocco even ran the race.  I think she misses running, she was my Dad's running buddy.
Eliza, Megan, and Ashley
The girls who helped put thing together for the race.
My cousin Sadie and her hubby.
 Mom & Liza
Love this picture of some sweet gals in my life.
I love Hailey's face in this picture.  She was so ready and excited for this race.  She was serious and did a super awesome job.  She finished the mile in 10:50.  Who knows, she may be a runner someday.

At the end of the race we each had a balloon, sang happy birthday to my Dad and released the balloons into the sky.  It was a beautiful and sweet moment.  I miss my Dad so much,  it will be so awesome when I get to see him again.  Happy Birthday Dad- I Love You!
My sweet girls loved this race.  Maybe Mia will get to run in the race next year.
My Dad was the man!  Good Dad, Husband, Son, Brother, Bishop, friend and so much more.
